HAND AND RECONSTRUCTIVE MICROSURGERY - KELOWNA

Description: 

The University of British Columbia Division of Plastic Surgery offers a 6 month Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery Fellowship, based at the Kelowna General Hospital.

 

The Hand component is comprised of a fulsome exposure to elective and traumatic surgery of the hand and wrist.


The Reconstructive component includes both microsurgical and non-microsurgical primary and secondary procedures, with a large volume of:

- Breast Surgery - elective, implant-based and free tissue transfer reconstruction.
- Head and Neck Surgery- oncologic (primary and secondary), elective and traumatic.
- Other traumatic and oncologic reconstruction – trunk and extremities.


This is a very “hands on” fellowship and includes a substantive opportunity for supported independent operating and clinic experience. Call is 1/5.

Requirements:

Financial support for this fellowship requires that the applicant be eligible for full licensure in British Columbia.
• Successful completion of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada examinations in Plastic Surgery.
• Successful completion of the IELTS exam if language of instruction and practice during medical school and residency was not in English. A passing grade must be obtained prior to submission of the fellowship application.
